There’s plenty to do and see at Camber Sands. Situated in the East of East Sussex with its miles and miles of sand and dunes, the beach is ideal for buckets and spades and other games, picnics, or just lazing. You can also get kite-surfing lessons at the local Kitesurf Centre there and windsurfing is also popular, as well as other watersports.
Slightly inland, the old Port Town of Rye is perched on a hill and looks over the River Rother and Romney Marsh. It has cobbled streets, a medieval church and beautifully preserved historic houses from medieval, Tudor and Georgian times, making it look like it belongs to a bygone era.

In all grades of accommodation there’s the option to pay a supplement for half board and have breakfast and an evening meal in the restaurant, but if you prefer there’s a Nisa Today’s Convenience Store to stock up in, so no need to bring lots of shopping with you.
For eating out there’s the Pier Restaurant, Downtown Diner, or fish and chips from Captain Cod, and other shops on the Park include a hire shop where you can hire the things you couldn’t carry with you.The Bluecoats will be there to entertain and as well as their own shows there are Star Cabarets, quizzes, talent shows, fancy dress and magicians.
There’s plenty to do all day. At Camber there’s indoors kids’ aerobics sessions as well as the Family Aquafit in the pool. Parents as well as children can join in with the fast-paced activities with the Kids’ Crew, or you can laugh at Florence’s Fame Academy, where Florence the ostrich tries to teach ballet to the bluecoats. Play a game of five-a-side football or crazy golf, take some line dancing lessons, or any number of other free activities. The small members of the family also has lots of choice of activities, with the Little Tykes’ safe play area, Teddy Bears’ Picnic, colouring and many more.
Nearby places to visit include Drusillas, which is not only a zoo of small to medium size exotic creatures, kept in as near to natural conditions as possible, but has lots of other things to do, like Amazon Adventure, a soft play area with a jungle theme, and rides around the zoo on Thomas the Tank Engine or one of his friends.
A day in nearby Hastings could include the Blue Reef Aquarium with over forty living marine displays, a tour of caves used by smugglers long ago, or hastings Castle, with the West Hill Cliff Railway to take you between attractions.
