Summer holidays aren’t quite the same without water, so at Lower Huyde Park Resorts Holiday Park you’ll find an indoor spa pool and a heated outdoor pool complex with fun flume. Open from 21st May through to 3rd the September, kids will love the choice of water sports available here. Give the hydrodomes a go and try walking on water – it’s hard than it looks! Or join in the musical Waterworx sessions and get moving on holiday. There’s snorkelling, pool kayaks, sea scooters and team games to enjoy too. For the tots, aged 2+ the Aqua Totz sessions will give them confidence to have fun in the water.
Once you’ve dried-off, there’s plenty of other activities to get involved with, such as archery, darts, pool, or a quick family game of touch-rugby on the all-weather sports court. If football is your thing, then line up for the friendly Festival of Football tournaments, where you get a chance to showboat your skills and play as your favourite national team. The Track & Field events have been introduced especially to celebrate the Olympic 2012 year here in the UK. With races, games and events there’s something here for both for serious contenders, and those that just want to have some fun. Lower Hyde has many other daytime entertainment activities too, so be sure to ask for a programme when you check-in.
There are kids clubs at Lower Hyde that are sure to keep them busy from morning to night, when the sparkling evening entertainment programme begins. The Little Sparks club is for children of 5 and under and they’ll have a chance to listen to stories, make some music, dance and hop, skip and jump around in the gym sessions. For 5-11 year olds, Sparky’s Krew has a wide range of activities, games, competitions and discoveries to be made. The older kids aged 12-16+ get to hang-out in the Xcite for Teens club. With others their own age, they can choose to take part in the activities if they wish, or just chill out at the Xcite Gazebo. The Xcite club is only available during peak seasons, so please check before booking.
On-site you’ll find a coffee shop, bar, restaurant and a take-away diner, as well as the Squires Showbar which hosts the evening entertainment shows. The park’s convenience store stocks all your holiday food and non-food essentials, gifts, souvenirs and bits for the kids. A launderette is available and you can connect to Wifi in public areas, although there is small charge for using these facilities.
Accommodation at Lower Hyde Holiday Park offers visitors a wide range to choose from. They have static caravan holiday homes across six different grades, as well as self-catering Chalets available in Silver or Bronze standards. The Luxury Lodges are set in gorgeous landscaped surroundings, have an external veranda or patio, and an en-suite to the master bedroom. If you prefer the freedom of the outdoors and wish to bring your own tourer or tent, then Lower Hyde is the place to go. They have both electric and non-electric pitches, totalling 151 in all, and the site offers toilets, showers & washbasins, baby changing facilities and hairdryers for hire.
