Landguard Holiday Park sits in a pretty wooded area on the Isle of Wight, next door to its sister park, Lower Hyde, and just a 10 minute drive to the nearest beach.
But a stones-throw to the lively seaside resort at Shanklin and with access to and use of all the facilities at Park Resorts Lower Hyde Holiday Park, Landguard offers guests here a wide range of things to do and see during your stay. Whether you choose to stay in one of the well equipped static caravans, hire a lodge at Lower Hyde, or bring your touring motor-home or tent and rent a pitch, you’ll find everything you need for a fun-filled, or relaxing, family holiday. On-site is a convenience store where guests can buy all the necessary essentials, both food and non-food, as well as gifts, souvenirs and treats for the kids, including Sparky’s Krew character toys.
The static caravans at this Park Resorts Holiday Park are spacious and comfortable with a choice of four different grades to choose from. The Gold Plus standard has central heating and double glazing, while the Gold standard has flat screen TVs and DVD players. Choose a Silver grade and you can check-in from 2.30pm, or choose the Bronze grade and bring the dog along! There are 3 standards of luxury Lodges available, sleeping between 4 and 8 people in 2 or 3 bedded models. Bring your tourer or tent and get the convenience of the park’s facilities, with the freedom of the outdoors. All pitches are flat 6m x 6m spaces and the facilities include WC’s, showers, a covered dishwashing area, baby changing facilities, with hairdryers for rent from the site reception.
The Park has an indoor pool complex, as well as an outdoor pool (open from May through to September), both of which are heated and Landguard resort offers a water sports programme for its guests, including; pool kayaks, hydrodomes, sea scooters, snorkelling, team games and waterworx fitness sessions, as well as water confidence sessions for the younger ones, aged 2+. Other sports and activities on the park include darts, pool, Ready Steady Bow, the brand new Track & Field events, introduced in celebration of the UK’s Olympic year and the fantastically fun Triple A Afternoons. There’s also a children’s adventure playground, and kids clubs too. Little Sparks is suitable for under 5’s, while Sparky’s Krew invited 5-11 year olds to join their games, sporting activities and events.
Landguard offers visitors a relaxed entertainment programme, hosted at the Jesters Family Club, but if you’re looking for something a little livelier, then pop next door to the Lower Hyde Holiday Park, where things may get a little more vigorous. There are cabaret acts, family shows, games, competitions and dancing to enjoy as well as touring bands and parties for the kids.
When it’s time for food, Landguard has much to offer. You can visit the Granary Restaurant where you and family can sit and enjoy a meal together, with a choice of traditional favourites as well as healthier options, you’re bound to find something to suit everyone’s tastes. You’ll also find highchairs, bottle warming facilities and children’s menus here. You can grab a takeaway or vtry the lighter snacks available from The Café. After dinner, you can pull up a chair and enjoy a drink while you let the Park Resorts Landguard team entertain you.
