Situated within a mile of some great beaches and three fishing lakes, Sheerness Holiday Park is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing holiday, yet with plenty to do on the park and places to explore on other days.
All the leisure facilities on the park are include in the booking price, including the pools. Sheerness has one of the largest indoor pools available, and there’s also a smaller children’s pool, as well as a play area and lots of fun to be had in the Loopy Kid’s Club. Children from five years to fourteen can join in with arts and crafts and outdoor activities, with parents going along, too.
Also included is all the entertainment, including live shows and cabaret, talent contests, kareoke, bingo and more. Weekends are the liveliest times and everything is more relaxed during the week. Sky Sports is available in the club, as is free Wi-Fi.
There are three standards of caravan to choose from, Bronze, Silver, or Gold Plus, and Sheerness is also one of the seven parks to have touring and camping facilities. Dogs can come along, at an extra charge, in some Bronze caravans and in touring.
There’s a launderette on the park, and a small shopping kiosk to top up with essentials. The restaurant in the Club has a varied menu, with children’s meals, takeaway and options of booking to stay with some meals included on days to suit you.
For a great day out, visit Wingham Wildlife Park, near Canterbury, with its walk-through enclosures with deer and wallabies, prairie dogs and lemurs. You can also see gibbons and some small monkey species, visit the dwarf crocodiles and other reptiles, and play on the adventure playground.
As well as its beautiful Cathedral, Canterbury has lots to keep you interested, like the Roman Museum, where you descend to the level of the Roman street, look into recreated Roman rooms, get to handle actual Roman pottery and tools and marvel at how like it was to things today. You can follow this with a stroll in the beautiful Dane John Gardens, by the city walls.
The Dockyard in Chatham has so much to see and do, with historic buildings, museum galleries, warships, submarines and rope making. You’ll probably need the whole day and can find a meal at the Wheelwright’s Restaurant in the Dockyard, before returning to a relaxing evening at Sheerness Holiday Park and planning your next day.
