Caravans at Marlie farm Holiday Park

In  peaceful countryside setting, close to the town of New Romney, Marlie Holiday Park is right next to the Romney Marsh Nature Reserve which you can explore, and yet it’s still close to the sandy beaches at St Mary’s Bay and Dymchurch. Between Marlie and the nearest  beach is Littlestone Golf Club, so you might want to bring along your clubs.

Marlie is also home to a large colony of rabbits, friends for Loopy! There’s fun with Loopy’s Club for the five to fourteen-year-olds, and  there’s the adventure playground, with monkey bars, swings, slides, or the amusement zone for them to enjoy. The small indoor leisure pool is just right for a dip before or after you try out the spa bath and sauna.

You can see live shows,  join in with kareoke and competitions, or dance to the disco in the superb entertainment venue, and this adjoins the Family Bar, which has a dining area and Sky television.

As well as well equipped Bronze, Silver and Gold Plus static caravans with two or three bedrooms, you can choose to stay in Silver standard lodges, also with two or thee bedrooms, or bring your own accommodation and use one of the pitches for motorhomes, tourers and camping. Pets are welcome in the touring area and in selected bronze caravans, for an extra charge when booking.

Possible days out in the area might include a visit to Hop Farm Family Park, Paddock Wood, where you can experience 4D cinema. See Pirates’ Cove. take a course in the children’s driving school, walk through the magic factory and learn some magic tricks. There are giant jumping pillows the whole family can play on, with small pillows for toddlers, indoor and outdoor play areas and a chance for encounters with small animals, or maybe a ride on a dray horse.

New Romney itself is one of the historic Cinque Port Towns of Kent. It has a good variety of shops, supermarkets, cafes, pubs and banks, as well as the 12th century St Nicholas Church.

The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway runs from Hythe to Dungeness, but New Romney is the centre and base of this world’s smallest public railway and New Romney Station has a museum and a children’s playground next to a picnic area. You can by an all-day ticket to ride back and forth on the line for the day, stopping off at each station.

Whether it’s countryside and nature, or seaside you enjoy, Marlie Holiday Park can offer you the best of both worlds.
