Hoburne Bashley Holiday Park is just inside the southern edge of the New Forest National Park and offers a variety of accommodation which includes three standards of comfortable two, three or four bedroom static caravans and four types of hard-standing touring pitches, some of which include awning areas and many of them divided by hedgerows for privacy. There are no facilities for camping in tents at the Park.
Things to do when staying at the Park include an indoor pool with flume, a sauna and steam room, plus a heated outdoor pool and paddling pool for the summer months. There’s crazy golf, plus a three par, nine hole golf course, an adventure playground, football field and tennis court. There’s also a nature trail, and for smaller campers there’s Sammy Seahorse club and an indoor soft play area. Indoors, as well, there’s snooker, table tennis, mini bowls and an amusement arcade, some of which do have an extra charge.
During and after the fun you can recharge your energy with a meal from the Hungry Woodcutter Food Service and Takeaway or at the handy kiosk and there’s a Costcutter Store, so no need to bring loads of shopping with you. There’s also a launderette on the Park.
In the evenings there is entertainment in the Licensed Club, where you can get cashback from the bar area and where there is also satellite TV.
Apart from the Park’s own wide choice of amenities you have the whole of the New Forest National Park to explore the by walking, cycling or horseback, as well as by car or on an open-topped bus. You can see oaks and wildflowers, deer, ponies and birds of prey, all set among a mixture of ancient woodland, heather-covered heath, gentle farmland, and picturesque villages.
In the opposite direction you have the South Coast to visit, with many miles of sandy beaches and traditional seaside at places like the Georgian Market Town of Lymington, which has shops, a Saturday market and cream teas, and Bournemouth, with its Oceanarium, the pier, the Chines, and plenty of nightlife.
Nearby places to visit include Paultons Family Theme Park, which is on the edge of the New Forest. This has many rides and Peppa Pig World is a new attraction there.
Further into the heart of the New Forest is Beaulieu National Motor Museum, House and Gardens with lots to see, including the National Motor Museum and historic Beaulieu Abbey.
Out of the Forest, along the A35 Poole-Dorchester road, near Lytchett Minster and clearly signed with brown tourist signs, is Farmer Palmers Farm Park. Children can play indoors and out and meet farm animals and pets during a busy day of feeding times and tractor trailer rides. The farm Park has a gift shop and restaurant.
For golfers there are two courses, one at Burberry Woods in poole and one at Crane Valley in Verwood, Dorset, both of which give Hoburne customers 20% off green fees while they are staying at the Park.
With so much to enjoy in and around the New Forest and Hoburne Bashley Park itself this will certainly be a holiday to remember.
