This perfectly situated holiday park is in a wonderful location, with Dartmoor on one side and the sea on the other. Finlake Lodges holiday park is a world on its own, set in 130 acres of simply stunning English countryside.

This holiday park is perfect for a weekend break or a family holiday with the children. There is so much, or so little, you can choose to do, it’s up to you how to spend your time. Finlake Lodges are so close to the National Park of Dartmoor, so you really do have incredible beauty on your doorstep.

With a wide range of leisure facilities situated within the park, there’s something to keep you and the kids happy throughout your stay. At Finlake Lodges it is up to you how active you decide to be, you may simply want to relax and take in the fresh country air, or head out for hike along one of the nature trails. On-site, there are two swimming pools you can choose from; a wonderful heated indoor pool and, perfect for the summer seasons, an outdoor pool with a giant water slide. There is horse riding available too, so you can go for a day’s trekking, but you will need to pay a little extra for this activity. Other luxury facilities that incur a small fee include the gym, tennis courts, aeroball, golf and few others.

Finlake Lodges even has their own fishing lake on site, so if you’re a keen angler and have your own EA Licence, then why not spend a peaceful day by the water’s edge, while the kids tire themselves out enjoying all the sporting activities. For adults, there is most desirable health & leisure club, complete with sauna, and if you wish, you can really treat yourself and book in for one of the luxury beauty treatments. There is also a farm shop, and a bar and restaurant on site, so residents can choose whether they cook for themselves or enjoy a delicious meal out.

Finlake Lodges offers a variety of accommodation to choose from. So whether you are visiting as a couple, or with a large family, you are sure to be well catered for. Residents will also find an on-site launderette facility, so there’s no need to play catch-up on those dreaded washing chores, once you return home. The luxurious accommodation ranges from country lodges to woodland lodges, each with its own kitchen and private facilities, that you would expect to find in your country home from home. Some of the lodges have a balcony, which comes complete with garden furniture, whilst other lodges offer a decking area with patio furniture.

All gas and electricity usage is included in the cost of this country retreat holiday park, so there’ll be no need to worry about extra fuel bills.

Pets are welcome at Finlake Lodges, incurring a small charge of £45 per week, so you won’t need to leave your precious pooch behind.

All accommodation is non-smoking, with smoking allowed only in the designated areas.

Unfortunately, due to the steepness of some of the steps and park surroundings, we regret to advise that this holiday park is not suited to wheelchair users.

With the spectacular surroundings of Newton Abbot, and the fantatic facilities that Finlake Lodges has to offer, visitors will be simply delighted with their holiday stay at this beautiful country park.

Situated in a nature reserve next to the River Mere, this Holiday Village can provide a peaceful holiday wandering from bird hide to bird hide, hoping to spot water rail, bittern, sometimes even osprey, and many other species, as well as butterflies, dragonflies, bats and orchids. On the other hand, it is just three miles south of all the fun and excitement that is Blackpool!

The Holiday Village amenities include a heated indoor pool, an outdoor Splash Zone, and a recently added Space Bowl Flume. There’s also a large Adventure Golf area, archery and fencing, mini bowling and pool, and an outdoor grass bowling green.

All day entertainment by the characters of the Zoo Troop and the Kids’ Clubs for various ages, carries on into the evening with shows by the FunStars, quizzes, discos.

You can stay in a static caravan and bring your pet along in the comfy Standard and Standard Plus ones. Other caravans range up to Platinum and some have their own large balconies for an extra touch of luxury. There are also touring pitches with hard-standing for motor homes and touring caravans.

There’s a hire shop where you can hire bicycles and any other equipment you might not have brought along, and you can buy most of your self-catering needs in the Spar Convenience Store. For eating out there’s the Cafe Bar & Grill, which also has internet access inside and on its terrace. Alternatively you can visit the fish and chip shop for a delicious takeaway meal.

For a great day (or two) out, buses run every half hour from Marton Mere Holiday Village to glorious Blackpool, with its three piers full of theatres and funfair rides and its wonderful expanse of beach.

Wander the length of the seafront when the lights are on, or take a ride on a tram. Visit the Tower, with Jungle Jim’s Playground, the ballroom and the circus, and then stop at the Pleasure Beach to try out the rides.

A holiday of contrasts, some idyllic country pastimes, some energetic fun among the many facilities in the Holiday Village, and then the bright lights and seaside fun of Blackpool. What more could be needed for a wonderful time?

Rockley Park is near Poole in Dorset. There’s direct access to sandy Dorset beaches with a sailing school, boat moorings and a beach cafe. The view from the beach is of Poole Harbour and Studland.

This five-star park has exceptional facilities. Indoor and outdoor pools, a tower flume, and a splash zone for extra water fun, two children’s play areas and an adventure playground mean there won’t be a bored moment. Then there are the clubs geared to activities for the various age groups.

You can hire a bike or a kart, play tennis and have a lesson or two if you like, or for total pampering and relaxation there’s a luxury spa, offering massages, facials and various body treatments to help you to unwind.

Accommodation is in comfortable static caravan homes, or there’s a touring area for motorhomes and touring caravans, but you need to phone ahead if you’d like to camp in a tent. For an extra amount, dogs are welcome to stay in Standard Caravans and on the touring site and can be taken on the beach at any time of year.

As well as offering good food and a bar, the Mash and Barrel has comfortable armchairs to relax and chat. It also has free Wi-Fi access, both inside and on the upper Sun Terrace. For a change, there’s also the Sports Zone Cafe, or there’s Papa John’s Pizza if you fancy a takeaway. If you should decide on a cosy meal in, you can buy all you need at the Spar Convenience Store.

Three buses go from the camp to Poole every day, or the stop for the regular bus service is about five minute’s walk away from the entrance of the park, with a bus every thirty minutes.

In Poole itself you can walk around the famous harbour and quay, look at the shops, and visit Poole Park to feed the ducks and swans on Swan Lake, or ride on the miniature railway that runs around it. Nearby is Gus Gorilla’s Jungle Playground, an exciting adventure playground, and a restaurant for parents to relax. Poole Park also has a rose garden, bowling green, crazy golf and another large play area with slides and swings, so there’s something for everyone, including the dog.

If you want to venture a bit further, at Poole bus station you can change to one that takes you for a day in Bournemouth, with its pier, seaside fun, shops, restaurants, theatres, and seven miles of golden sands.

After your day out exploring, what could be nicer than to round off the day back at Rockley Park, enjoying a delicious meal and settling down in the Showbar to the evening’s entertainment programme of comedy, quizzes, games and shows that the whole family will enjoy. The perfect end to another full day.

The Park boasts a heated indoor swimming pool with a huge slide for children, Turbo Paddlers, Water Walkerz, and much more, plus an outdoor Splash Zone where you can drench and get drenched in lots of different ways. On dry land, for a moderate extra charge, you could try roller blading, or have a go at archery or fencing, or just enjoy the Fun Zone play area.

Pets are welcome in the comfortable Standard and Standard Plus self-catering caravans, other caravans are classed from Superior to Prestige. There’s a charge per pet when booking.

Eat at the Mash and Barrel lounge-bar-cafe, or enjoy takeaway from Papa John’s Pizza or during the summer months you can join in with the barbecues. Alternatively, the Spar Convenience Store on the park can supply your needs when you want to eat in.

Entertainment is non-stop at Haven, with Character Funtime Shows during the days and later on there’s bingo and game shows, plus shows by the FunStars, guest stars, and even the circus, with Circus Live!

There’s no problem thinking about where to go for a day out from Cala Gran, with Blackpool just a short bus ride away. With its three piers, each one having a character of its own, plus the glorious expanse of beach with donkeys waiting to give the children rides. The whole of the front is packed with things to see, starting with the Blackpool Tower, inside which there’s Jungle Jim’s children’s indoor play area, full of exciting things to do, as well as the Blackpool Tower Dungeon with scary scenes and rides, the beautiful Tower Ballroom, where you can take a rest to enjoy the dancing and have a drink , The Blackpool Eye, with 4D cinema, a glass floor, and spectacular views across Blackpool, and the Blackpool Tower Circus.

There’s enough in the Blackpool Tower alone to fill a day, but yet to come are Sealife, with sharks and interactive rockpools, Madame Tussauds, and Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which has well over a hundred rides and attractions, from cruises around Alice’s Wonderland to the white-knuckle Big Dipper, and also a large choice of restaurants and catering outlets.

A little inland from the seafront is Blackpool Zoo, with lions, elephants, gorillas, and a walk-through South American enclosure where you can meet the inquisitive squirrel monkeys, close up. The Zoo also has an exciting Dinosaur Safari and a children’s farm where you can play with, hug, groom or chat to many different types of animals.

Blackpool also has plenty of shops, or you can take a tram ride to Fleetwood and back to look at the lights when they’re on.

Fleetwood has its own beach and large indoor and outdoor markets, and the town of Cleveleys, halfway between Blackpool and Fleetwood, also has a beach with traditional seaside amusements and mini rides, plus lots of shops and market stalls offering bargains.

With all the fun on offer at Haven’s Cala Gran Holiday Park, and with Blackpool’s attractions a short bus ride away, this holiday will really be one to remember.

Situated on the Cleveland Way clifftop coastal path, Blue Dolphin Holiday Park has one of Haven’s most diverse sporting programmes. The heated indoor pool has a huge multi-lane slide, while the heated outdoor pools have a tumble-wave slide, and then there’s the SportsDrome, offering fun sports for all ages. Trampolines and crazy golf add to the fun, and there’s a fishing lake with bumper boats!

Children are entertained throughout the day in the various free clubs for different age groups, and the park is safe and secure for them to go about. Every evening you can look forward to FunStars shows, games, contests, party time, with acts by touring artists scheduled throughout the season.

The comfortable two or three bedroom caravan holiday homes allow dogs to stay in the Standard and Standard Plus ranges, and they’re also welcome in the touring and camping areas, where there are over three hundred pitches for tents or motorhomes and touring caravans.

The Spar Convenience Store can supply your self-catering needs, or you have the option of eating in the Mash and Barrel cafe, or a choice of take aways.

The nearest beach access is three miles away at Filey, and also within easy reach, Scarborough has a lighthouse, castle, sea life centre, miniature railway, plus two glorious, sandy and safe beaches.

The city of York is also well worth a visit. See the York Minster and the castle Museum, or journey through York in Roman times in Jorvic. There are sightseeing buses, or a circular cruise on the River Ouse, and for railway enthusiasts the National Railway Museum has free entry. You can see and even go aboard many of the trains, while the kids enjoy the outdoor play area, miniature rides, and interactive exhibits.

Further up the coast is Whitby, with its famous 199 steps up to St Hilda’s Abbey on the clifftop. The town itself has a maze of alleys and streets running down to the harbour and quayside, with jewellers selling Whitby Jet, antiques centres, other shops and a market. The replica of the Captain Cook’s ship, The Endeavour is moored in the harbour, and you can also visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum to learn about his early life and the start of his naval career.

The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway now runs as far as Whitby and you can ride on it across the Yorkshire Moors to Goathland, where the television series “Heartbeat” was filmed. There are some great walks exploring the area here.

Whether you opt to stay on the Park or explore local places, your holiday is sure to be full of action and fun.

Lakeland Leisure Park is a calm, peaceful and green park. It’s twenty miles to the sandy beach at Morcambe Bay, but there are coastal walks on the edge of the park, which also has a par 36 nine-hole golf course.

The heated indoor pool offers fun all year round and in the summer months there’s a second heated pool outdoors. Also there’s a children’s play area, crazy golf and an all-weather bowling green, or you can hire a kart to explore the park, or just relax while the kids enjoy the entertainment. Whatever their age there’s a club to keep them occupied and they can roam safely to their hearts’ content within the secure Park.

The self-catering accommodation is in static caravans, ranging from Standard and Standard Plus, which give comfy value and your dog can stay too, through to the more luxurious Platinum end of the range. There are also a wide choice of pitches for camping, touring and motor caravans.

You can shop at the Spar Convenience Store for your self-catering needs, dine out at the Mash and Barrel Lounge-bar-cafe, buy traditional fish and chips to take away, or join in with a barbecue in the summer months, and after a good meal, all the family can enjoy the evening entertainment, which includes tribute acts, party dance time, FunStar shows, games, quizzes and bingo.

When it’s time for a day out, it takes just thirty minutes to reach Lake Windemere, where you can walk and enjoy the scenery of the beautiful lake District, or take a cruise around the lake.

The Aquarium of the Lakes has overhead tanks and rock-pool searching, or visit Dalton Zoo (South Lakes Wild Animal Park) for hands on experiences with animals from all corners of the globe.

Holker Hall, near Grange-over-Sands, is a magnificent house dating back to the sixteenth century, and is set in breathtakingly beautiful gardens that blend into parkland, all framed by the Lakeland Hills.

A great day out for the kiddies is to Ducky’s Park Farm, at Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands. Here children can pet a variety of animals, and play on pedal karts and trampolines . There’s a farm trail and a barrel train ride, among other amusements, plus Daffy’s Diner and Dilly’s Bar.

Of course, you’ll also probably want to spend a day at the seaside in Morecambe. Stroll along the sands and enjoy an ice cream in one of the cafes along the seafront. You’ll also find a cinema and bowling alley.

There are many local places to choose from, but what more relaxing holiday than just enjoying the golf and other amenities at Lakeland? Either way, you will have a wonderful time.

The beach at Caister is wide and sandy and you can walk between the sand dunes straight on to it from Caister Holiday Park. You can bring a chair or a towel and just relax in the sun, or join the kids for a splash in the sea and help them with their sandcastle.

Back on the Park, why not spend a few hours of fun in the heated indoor pool, with its multi-lane slide and the bubble pool? You can hire a submersible aqua-jet or walk on water in one of the giant bubbles called Water Walkerz. There are also lessons in swimming and water confidence for younger chidren.

There’s so much for children to enjoy they’ll find it hard to know where to start, from the fun tower with giant slides, to kiddie cars, bike and kart hire and the climbing wall with abseiling.

Every group of ages have their own club with activities ranging from storytime and messy play for the tiniest, to grafitti-arts and point collecting challenges for the teens. The park is safe and secure for children to roam.

Two showbars provide day and night entertainment, with dancing, live music, comedy, competitions and shows to suit the whole family.

You can stay in comfortable static caravans or chalets, or you can bring your own motorhome, caravan or tent to the touring site, which has excellent modern conveniences. Pets are welcome in touring, or in standard caravans, and are also allowed on the beach for walks.

Plenty of choice for food comes from the comfortable, family-friendly Mash and Barrel Lounge-Bar-Cafe, Pappa John’s Pizza (which delivers!), or the traditional fish and chip shop. If you don’t want to eat out you can find all you need at the Spar Convenience Store.

Caister Holiday Park is close to Great Yarmouth, with its shops, pier, long, sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre amd Merrivale Model Village.

At nearby Wroxham you can hire a boat for the day or afternoon, or go for a trip around the Broads on one of the pleasure boats.

Perhaps another day, for a treat for the kids, you could take them to BeWILDerwood, at Hoveton. Have fun and adventure in the forest, with magic treehouses, zipwires, jungle bridges, boat rides, Crocklebogs, Twiggles and Boggles and marsh walks, all based on the magical world created by local author, Tom Blofield.

Norfolk tends to have some of the UK’s driest weather, all the better to enjoy your holiday at Caister Holiday Park.

Overlooking the Firth of Forth, and only thirty minutes from Edinburgh, Seton Sands is just across the road from a rocky beach with rock pools to explore, and where dogs are allowed all through the year. The holiday village is also close to some excellent golf courses.

There’s plenty to do here all day, every day. In the heated pool with its paddling pool the whole family can have fun. There are even swimming lessons for the little ones and more experienced swimmers can hire Water Walkerz, Aquajets, and turbo paddlers.

Then there’s the sports court for all types of games, plus archery and fencing, or you can test your golfing skills on the crazy golf course. Children of all ages can also join in with organised sport, arts and crafts, or adventure activities in their own free clubs.

Entertainment is non-stop, with activities like Teddy Bears’ Picnics for the little ones and appearances by Rory the Tiger and his friends. Later on there are live shows, bingo, game shows and plenty more to please the whole family.

Choose from a Standard through to a Prestige two or three bedroom static caravan for your stay. Up to two pets are welcome in Standard and Standard Plus caravans. There are also pitches for touring and camping, with modern conveniences and a dedicated touring warden to help if any problems arise.

A wide range of menus is available in the Cafe, bar and grill, or there’s a traditional fish and chip shop for take away, plus a Spar Convenience Store for other needs.

The nearest sandy beach is about five miles away at Gullane. It’s a popular family beach for playing and sunbathing, and also at Gullane is a fine golf course, though you need to book in advance.

Beginning in April, through the summer you can take a sightseeing boat trip from the Hawes Pier in South Queensferry, sailing under the Forth Bridge and out to Inchcolm Island. There’s a chance of seeing grey seals, puffins, dolphins or even Minke whales on the way, with the option of staying for ninety minutes on the island to visit Inchcolm Abbey and catching the next boat back to South Queensferry

There’s a choice of fun days out in this region, but Edinburgh itself has so much to offer, with it’s fine shopping streets, Edinburgh Castle, Butterfly and Insect World at Dobbies Garden World, the Botanic Gardens and the Zoo. You will need to visit the city a few times to see everything and you can get guided bus tours to make sure you don’t miss anything interesting.

Come to Seton Sands Holiday Village for a holiday packed with fun.
